How can you tell a real Pikashow APK from a fake one?

A real Pikashow APK is free, about 16.4 MB, uses the package name com.offshore.pikachu, and asks only for network, microphone, advertising and background permissions. A fake one often has a different size or package name, asks for contacts, SMS or location, forces extra downloads, or asks you to pay for “premium”.

1. It asks for money

Pikashow is distributed free. Any site or app screen asking for a card number, a subscription or a “premium key” to unlock Pikashow is a scam.

2. The file size or package name is wrong

The 10.8.2 file is 17,177,014 bytes. A very small file is usually a downloader that fetches something else. After installing, check the package name in Settings; anything other than com.offshore.pikachu is not the same app.

3. It asks for permissions a video app does not need

A streaming app has no reason to read your contacts, messages or call log, or to use accessibility services. Those permissions are how fake APKs steal data or take over a phone.

4. The download page forces redirects or extra apps

If the download button opens new tabs, asks you to install another app first or to complete a survey, leave the site. A trustworthy page links straight to the .apk file.

5 and 6. Play Protect warns, or the hash does not match

Keep Google Play Protect switched on and cancel if it says the app is harmful. Finally, compare the file’s SHA-256 hash with the one published by the site. A mismatch means the file was changed.
